The “Last Frontier,” the “Land of the Midnight Sun”, or even “Russian America” — whatever you call it, Alaska is a mysterious and magical place that is totally different from the rest of the US. Alaska is the largest and most northern state, as well as one of the newest, since it only officially became a state in 1959. But the history of this place goes back much further.
